My story started as a military kid. We moved alot between Southern California and Virginia Beach. When I was younger I didn't apperciate it as much. As I got older it inspired my love for traveling and experiencing new things and meeting new people. It also gave me the privilege of living on both coasts that have a Disney Park, and thus my love of Disney was indoctrinated at an early age.
Fast forward a few years, and I moved to Charleston for college on scholarship at Charleston Southern University. My parents dropped me off and I didn't know a single soul in the whole state of South Carolina. Talk about an adventure. So naturally, I dediced to join a sorority. In the process of pledging I met my future husband. It IS a cute story. We dated for 4 years and he proposed on our 4th anniversary at the spot our relationship began on Sullivan's Island. Then he surprised me with tickets and an immediate trip down to Disney. But not before surprising me with cheese fries and our families for lunch at Outback, my family having driven overnight from Virginia. Talk about emotional overload. Literally the only day ever cheese fries were put in front of me and I couldn't touch them.
This year on our anniversary in April I married my college sweetheart at DISNEY! Talk about dreams coming true. It was absolutely magical. We brought our vendor friends from Charleston and they were of course the absolute best. It was a small wedding, just parents, grandparents, sibilings, and bridal party. It was perfect. A dream. We got married at the Wedding Pavilion at sunset and had the reception at the White Hall Room and Patio at the Grand Floridian. The links to our awesome pictures and video are below, check them out. Everything was magical.

My journey with my camera began 3 years ago. Matt had a wedding videography business, Re-Peet Productions. He was going to film his cousin's wedding and I was to be a guest. Except I picked up a camera out of curiosity to help him instead, and I haven't put it down since. Changed my life. I was on a different path. I was finishing college and climbing the corporate ladder very quickly. I picked up a camera and discovered I could get paid to travel, meet truly amazing people with amazing love stories, and I could capture those stories in a unqiue way that they could relive their special moments and pass on as heirlooms for years to come. It was so wonderful it felt like cheating.
I helped Matt film for Re-Peet Productions as a husband and wife team. Around a year ago we started talking about adding photography to the business. Enter Katie Capo (soon to be Apsey :), of Catherine Ann Photography. We hired her for our wedding, because she's legit, and along the way we realized we had a lot in common (our mutual obesession with Disney may have contributed) and we became quick friends. She ended up taking me under her wing and has mentored me over the last year in photography. And I fell in love with my camera all over again. So Matt and I decided to make this thing real and I went on to launch Alyssa Peet Photography while he still creates awesome videos for Re-Peet Productions. We still shoot as a husband and wife team for each other when we don't have overlapping wedding dates.
So when I'm not belting out Moana or scheming of ways to get Disney, you'll find me with camera in hand looking for a new love stories and adventures.
And that's my story. If you made it this far you're the best. And we should definitely connect because I'd love to hear yours!
